The Doodle and Zoe

No big news this week with the exception that our digital camera died and we had to order a new one on-line pronto. The new one takes a higher resolution picture, is smaller, and has more features than the last one. Thing is we didn't have a camera for about 5 days, so I don't have as many pictures for this week. I have a bunch of pictures of family members (Traylors and MacNeills) holding her, but I like to only post pictures of her by herself here or with mom and dad. We will start playing with the new camera more this week and will have a bunch of new pictures next week.

For now, I though the Doodle needed to have some more of his pictures on here, since the Zazu has been on here a bunch.

Zoe turns one........month old.

Zoe is in fact one month old this past Thursday. Now we can move to celebrating her monthly birthdays on the 19th of each month instead of trying to remember exactly how many Thursdays it has been since her birth.

We took her to the doctor's office for her one month check up this past Wed and she nows weighs 8 lbs. 1/2 oz. so we were very happy that she had gained some weight. She was very good for Dr. King and didn't cry or anything. She passed all her tests and Dr. King said she was in great shape, so that made Mom and Dad happy.

We had a nice visit from Uncle Andrew, Pop-Pop, and Ruth on Valentine's Day. They brought a nice outfit for Zoe and pizza for Mom and Dad.

Ok, snowbound on a Sunday, so I figured I could post one more time this weekend to get a few more (more recent) pictures up on the blog. I also don't want to get behind in photos so that I am always posting pictures that are weeks old. I want to get to the point where I am posting pictures that were taken during the week on the weekends.

It was a lazy Sunday and Jen is getting a bit of a cold with a sore throat, but Zoe is doing well. We have a doctor's appointment for her this coming Wednesday, one full day before she turns 4 weeks or one month old. Time really does fly by. Have a good week and I will see you back here next weekend with the next round of pictures.

dutch baby

Saturday afternoon and we are now hanging out inside as the first "blizzard" of 2006 falls down upon us. I actually remembered to post before another week went by! Now I just have to remember to bust out the dvd camcorder and capture some more video of Zoe. Something I only did when she first got home. I want to get in the habit of blogging and taking video of her every weekend. I want to shoot just 5 minutes or so of video a week to watch her progress. Our friend Becky just showed us one of her infamous scrapbooks this afternoon of her daughter sitting in a Boppy in the same position from 1 month to 15 months I think. It was really cool to see the progression, so J and I are going to try to do that on the 19th of each nonth.

Ok, dutch baby pictures now. Our good friend Solange ( Hi S - thanks for the crazy licorice!) who lives in Holland sent us a great care package for us and the baby. We try to send these care packages back and forth a few times a year. It's fun to look for cool stuff for her while we are out shopping over the course of the year. Anyhoo, she sent some cool clothes for Zoe that have bunnies and say "funny bunny" on them including the cute Jester hat.

Ok, so it was a bit of a long week, so it's been over a week since I have posted. I am going to try to get in the habit of posting on the weekend, but this one just flew by.

It was a nice weekend; our first real weekend since I have gone back to school this week. We had some milestones. We went to the grocery store together on Saturday and on Sunday we went to J's mom house (Mom-mom and Poppa John's) so those were 2 big excursions for us that went well. Later we came back to our house and watched the Super Bowl with Grammy and Aunt Karen.

Other things this week were that we went to the doctor's on Monday 01/30/06 and Zoe had gained 3.5 ounces in 5 days. It didn't seem like much to me, but the doctor was happy.
