2 months + 1 week + 3 days

The big news for this week is that we went to Dr. King's on Tuesday for Zoe's 2 month check-up and (ouch!) 2 month shots. She did really well during the visit and though she cried for the shots; it did not last long. Dr. King said she is doing great and she weighed in at 11 lbs. 6 oz. We were amazed because we were just at the doctor's office the previous Monday to check on her diaper rash. She weighed 10 lbs 3 oz then, so she gained 1 1/4 lb in only a week!

She is making more interesting sounds now and we can see her making new facial expressions as she continues to check out her world!

Have a good week,
K.

This is a happy face.

As opposed to her serious face.

Hmmm, what Zoe might look like with long hair?

Now, that is one hip baby.

almost Spring...

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Spring, though the weather is still cold here. We stopped at Rita's this afternoon and had a treat, so that made it feel even closer to Spring for us. We had a nice weekend and even managed a milestone event. Mom and Dad went to see V FOR VENDETTA while Gram and Aunt Karen babysat on Friday evening. It was the first time we we both out of the house without her. The movie was excellent and mom enjoyed it without suffering any "I miss my baby" freakouts! The weekend nights were a little rougher, since little Zoe wants to eat every hour ( or as mom says - non-stop) and wants to be up at night. She cries, but it is not wailing cries, more like "please interact with me" cries because as soon as Mom and dad start talking to each other, she will quiet down!

Zoe turned 8 weeks this past Thursday and a 2 month calendar birthday today, which means that Zoe is due for some vaccination shots on Tueday, so we are not really looking forward to that, but these things must be done.

The other big news since my last post on my birthday was that we had Zoe's "Coming out" party on Mom's birtday; Sunday 03/12. Many people showed up that had not yet met her and brought her some nice gifts. We would like to personally thank everyone who came to the party. It was a nice time for everyone. The only downside was that it was hard to visit equally with everyone and to take as many pictures as we would have liked. Though I did get a nice one of my mom and dad with her, we should have taken more.

Onto some pictures. Have a good week everyone.

39 years and 7 weeks

I am off today and Friday for my birthday, so a nice 4 day weekend for us all to enjoy together. We are going to have lunch at El Serrano's later this afternoon and Park City to buy my bday gift, a new 360 game.

Last weekend on Sunday (after I posted) we travelled to Barra and Zoe got to meet her great grandparents finally. It was supposed to happen for weeks, but we just had too many weekends where at least one of us felt sick, so it was nice that it finally happened. We took some nice pictures and even some dvd. I am almost done with the first Zoe dvd; relase date to follow.

This Sunday is Zoe's "Coming Out Party" from 12-5pm, so we hope to see a lot of people there, where I will finally get to corner some people and ask WHY THEY NEVER LEAVE ANY COMMENTS ON THE BLOG! C'mon people, it won't kill you to leave a comment. I check it every day and I am always disappointed that members are not leaving comments, especially the people that don't get to see her every week. Ok, I am stepping down off the soapbox.

On a final nore, I weighed myself last week, then hopped back on the scale with Zoe (around 6 weeks for her) and got a difference of 11 pounds. She is not quite so dinky anymore.

6 weeks and a day

A Friday night post - something I haven't done before. We got used to the new camera and so far are very happy with the higher quality pictures that it can produce.

Zoe is doing great and getting bigger everyday. In fact, just this morning I got on the scale and weighed myself, then held her in my arms and weighed us both and came up with 11 lbs. for Zoe; we even tried it twice. Jen and I were surprised at that!

Things are going really well. She wakes up at night to feed, but generally is not overly fussy, though she does have her crying fits from time to time. Mom bares the brunt of this, since she wakes up all night as dad sleeps, but Dad IS getting up at 5:15am to feed the horses during the week and changes his share of diapers!

Can't think of much more to say and it's almost time to watch a movie, so enjoy some new pictures.
